First things first…

Happy Birthday, Lucas 🎂

September 10th is Lucas Alexander’s birthday!

If you’ve read Iris Rose, you probably already know that Lucas and I have a…complicated relationship.

He is certainly a character I created. 😂

But I couldn’t let his birthday pass without doing something special for him.

Originally, I planned to write a quick, spicy little birthday scene for the newsletter.

You know.

Something short.

Cute.

A little What If?

Then Lucas and Iris apparently had other plans.

Fifty-plus pages later…

I accidentally wrote a short story.

What If We Were Honest?

This story asks one question:

What if Lucas and Iris had been honest with each other before their choices had the chance to hurt each other?

Same Lucas.

Same Iris.

Same history.

But one choice changes—and suddenly, their story has the chance to become something completely different.

Since this little “newsletter scene” turned into an entire short story, I decided not to make you scroll through 55 pages in an email.
